Class Details
Level: Confident Beginner Prerequisite: Intro to Sashiko Instructor: Cynthia Cost: $40 Hand stitch sashiko embroidered ornaments to accent your home, tree, or as gifts. A mix of hand & machine work will create a ‘unique to you’ outcome. Familiarity with sashiko stitching is helpful. Saturday October 24 @ 1-4pm Supply List for Each Ornament -Pearl cotton in #5 & #8 sizes, color(s) of choice. Sashiko thread is a choice. -#22 chenille needles or size of personal choice. A longer than usual needle is traditionally used. Sashiko needles are a choice; be sure your thread passes through the eye of the needle. Shop samples were made with pearl cotton and chenille needle. -Small (5” X 5” ) Piece of Essex Linen -Assorted fabric scraps; coordinated prints and solids as desired for backing -8”-10” Hanger Cord or Ribbon -1-2 small pieces of batting -French Fuse Scraps -Sashiko design Ideas from Sashiko by Jill Clay or preferred source -Standard preferred sewing supplies (rotary cutter, ruler, scissors, etc.) -Your sewing machine in good working order or reserve one from us
Class Schedule
Cancellation Policy
We must make our commitment to our instructors one week before the start of their class. Therefore, refunds are available when your cancellation is made ONE WEEK BEFORE THE CLASS, less a $5.00 handling fee. After that, no refunds or credits can be given. If Harper’s must cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, individuals registered for that class will be contacted and given the choice of a full refund or the substitution of another class.
