Class Details
Level: Confident Beginner Instructor: Cynthia Cost: $50 Students will learn this 350 year old Japanese hand needlework technique using a thick cotton thread to create geometric patterns against a solid background fabric. Sashiko can be used in quilts, clothing or home furnishing. It is easy, fun and relaxing. You will be emailed a supply list upon enrollment. Wednesday, September 30 and October 7 @ 6-8pm Supply List: -Pearl cotton in #5 & #8 sizes, color(s) of choice. Sashiko thread is a choice. -#22 chenille needles or size of personal choice. A longer than usual needle is traditionally used. Sashiko needles are a choice; be sure your thread passes through the eye of the needle. Shop samples were made with pearl cotton and chenille needle. -Sashiko--one piece of linen or linen-like fabric about 15” x 24-42” in dimension and in a solid color. -Assorted fabric scraps; coordinated prints and solids as desired to attach to the backing. The instructor will provide students small pieces of both types of fabrics. -Thin, clear ruler with eighth inch markings -Any temporary fabric marker with a fine tip -Wondermarker, chalk marker, etc -Optional Sashiko design templates

Cancellation Policy
We must make our commitment to our instructors one week before the start of their class. Therefore, refunds are available when your cancellation is made ONE WEEK BEFORE THE CLASS, less a $5.00 handling fee. After that, no refunds or credits can be given. If Harper’s must cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, individuals registered for that class will be contacted and given the choice of a full refund or the substitution of another class.
